Q: What precautions should be taken when using this module on a frequency converter cabinet that has not been powered on for more than 5 years?

A: This module is part of the SINAMICS S120 drive system. If the frequency converter cabinet has not been powered on for a long period (e.g., 5 years), the capacitors will age, and direct power-on may damage the module. Capacitor desealing (pre-charging) must be performed first: It is recommended to connect light bulbs (e.g., three 95W bulbs) in series on the DC bus for current-limited charging, monitoring the DC bus voltage until it stabilizes at approximately 1.35 times the incoming line voltage, and then power on normally.

Q:How to debug the SIMOTION D425 control unit that works with this module using software?

A: Note that the SIMOTION D series differs from the standard CU320; projects cannot be directly uploaded using the STARTER software via the "search node" method. The correct method is:

Connect the D425 via Ethernet to its X120 or X130 port.

Use SCOUT software (not STARTER) for debugging.

The Drive-CLiQ ports (X100-X103) are used to connect the power module and motor module and cannot be used for software searching.
